Cartens Fire Update

Carstens Fire Update

Evacuation orders continue for:

Residents north of Triangle Rd. from State Route 140 to Darrah Rd.

Road closures continue at Buckingham Mountain Road, Carter Road, Jerseydale Road, and Darrah Rd., East Westfall, Triangle Rd. from Highway 140 to Darrah Road is open to residents only.

 

This Health Alert is in effect until revised as conditions warrant.

Carstens Fire

The following is updated information regarding the Carstens Fire in Mariposa County. This message was recorded June 17 at 1 AM.

The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office issued an evacuation order at 1130 PM due to the unpredictability of the Carstens fire.  CALFIRE has initiated an evacuation order for the residents residing on the northeast side of Triangle Road between Highway 140 extending to Darrah Road.  Again, residents are being asked to evacuate if you live on the north side of Triangle Road from HWY 140 to Darrah Road.

At 1 AM, CALFIRE initiated an evacuation advisory notice for the residents of the Lushmeadows subdivision.  Again, this is an evacuation advisory “ONLY”.  Residents are being asked to be prepared in the event an actual evacuation order becomes necessary.  If, in the event an evacuation order becomes necessary, you will be contacted by Law Enforcement personnel.

An evacuation center has been established at the Mariposa Elementary School located at 5044 Jones Street in Mariposa. The Mariposa County Fairgrounds Animal Shelter for animals and livestock has also been opened.
